Some notes about the accident. Sometime after 11 AM on Saturday March 29, a neighbor was driving her Corolla down Lakeview Dr. and went into a small skid in rounding the downhill sharp turn above our house on Lakeview Dr. There was mud caked into the treads of her right front tire that probably lowered traction and contributed to the start of the skid. Her attempt to correct the skid was not successful and the car ended rotated 90 degrees and began skidding on the two left-hand wheels further down the hill in front of the house. The car would have flipped except the back door struck the brick structure marking our driveway causing the car to come to rest in our front garden. It seems the driver must have had her seat belt on and avoided injury. The drivers parents and friends arrived within 15 minutes. The Hillsborough police came and measured distances and prepared a detailed report. The tow truck towed the car out. The car was in driveable condition when it was returned to the road, and could have been driven home. However, the tow truck towed it away presumably for "insurance reasons". Damage to our front yard was included loss of three trees, two Japanese Cherries and one Magnolia, damage to the sprinkler system, minor damage to the flower bed. Doug Boyd
